there are 3 pure c# open source database engines as far as I know:

http://code.google.com/p/csharp-sqlite/

http://sharphsql.codeplex.com/

http://developer.novell.com/wiki/index.php/Minosse_Relational_DataBase_System

the first one is the pure c# implementation of the famous sqlite db engine.

I would like to see a comparison:)

In brief, sharphsql(http://sharphsql.codeplex.com/) is based on HSQLDB 1.4  and EffiProz is based on HSQLDB 1.8 code base.

For a comparison between HSQL & SqlLite (C version)  http://3rdstage.blogspot.com/2009/03/comparion-of-hsqldb-h2-sqlite.html

Minosse last release was in 2005, Do you know its still active?
